Great bank holiday weekend as part of ‘Troubled Times’: a Plantagenet Events show at Cosmeston Medieval Village in the Vale of Glamorgan. We set up a living history camp with various other medieval groups, and, despite some problems with the weather on Saturday and the condition of the ground, had a really successful show. Garrison displayed various crafts in and around the village, cooked authentic food, helped with a barber-surgeon injury display, and took part in a combat display with several other groups. Wonderful weekend and thanks so much to everyone who attended.
Cardiff Castle Garrison is very pleased to announce that it will be taking part in a two-day event run by Plantagenet Events at the newly refurbished Cosmeston Medieval Village in the Vale of Glamorgan.
This event will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and will feature several medieval re-enactment groups, traders, living history camps and a battle on both days. Cardiff Castle Garrison will be providing a living history camp displaying period crafts, clothing, cooking, arms and armour. Several of our group members will also be taking part in the battles.
We are really excited about this event, as the group has had a long and successful history with Cosmeston Medieval Village, and feel honoured to be joining them once again after funding cuts necessitated a three-year hiatus from public events.
